Ukrainian Support Circle
What: Ukrainian Support Circle
Who: Organized by Maria Sonevytsky, Masha Shpolberg & Teryn Kuzma
When: Friday, Dec. 9 @ 4:30 p.m.
Where: Bard Campus
Details: All Ukrainians (of any language preference, ethnic background, citizenship, migration history or status, or faith tradition) are welcome. Any Ukrainians affiliated with Bard College or the local community are welcome. If you support Ukrainians, but do not self-identify as a Ukrainian, we respectfully ask that you wait for another opportunity to meet, but you are welcome to RSVP for future events below. We may host future events open to Ukrainian allies in our community.
What is the purpose of gathering?
Our first intention is simply to gather our Ukrainian community to better support each other during the ongoing horrors of a war we are experienced from a distance. Our second intention is to create a space where Ukrainians of many different backgrounds feel welcome. Our third intention is to begin a conversation about how to support the Ukrainian students who will be arriving as part of Bard’s Emergency Student Refuge Program in 2023, and to think about how we can support Ukrainians more generally. We are open to setting other intentions, too, and welcome ideas.
This is an RSVP event to receive exact address of meeting place (on Bard Campus) and to ensure proper head count for refreshments.
