Details:  This workshop is the first in a season-long series teaching skills and supporting local gardeners through all the stages of a garden: from planning and planting, through harvest and end-of-year clean up. Sam, from Four Corners Community Farm, will start the Intro to Organic Garden
Planning workshop by helping participants understand their goals for planting a garden. Then we will discuss organic gardening principles, how to choose the best location for a garden, planning the types and amounts of crops to grow, and how to ensure multiple harvests throughout the season. We end with hands-on practice in garden design!

Join us at the Red Hook Community Center on Sunday, February 27th at 2pm. Pre-registration is required.

Childcare is available.

Este taller es el primero en un serie que durara toda la temporada para demostrar habilidades y apoyar jardineros orgánicos en todas de las tapas de su cultivo: desde diseño y siembra, hasta la cosecha y preparación para el invierno. Sam, de Four Corners Community Farm, iniciará este taller ayudando a los asistentes a considerar sus varias metas antes de iniciar a romper tierra. Luego, discutiremos varios principios de la jardinería orgánica, como escoger su mejor ubicación, cuales variedades de plantas usar, y como
asegurar multiples cosechas por toda la temporada. Terminaremos con una practica de diseño. Unete al taller que se llevara a cabo en el Red Hook Community Center el domingo, 27 de febrero, a las 2PM. Es necesario
registrar antes.

Guardaría de niños será ofrecido y traducción del taller al español.
