Francis J “Frank” Flandreau, 76, a longtime resident of Red Hook, died Tuesday, March 28 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Born on February 14, 1947, in Rhinebeck, he was the son of the late William Marr and Mary Elizabeth (Kohn) Flandreau. Frank married Carol Daigle on October 6, 1973 in Waterbury, CT, and she survives at home in Red Hook.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968. Through his 50-year career, Frank was an over the road truck driver, with Ecfo Products of Poughkeepsie and for last 30 years with Yellow Freight based in Maybrook, N.Y.. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 707 & Local 445.
Frank was a decade’s long communicant of St. Christopher’s Church in Red Hook. He was a member of Red Hook Post #7765 VFW, and Montgomery Post 429 American Legion in Rhinebeck.
